From Lock 18 in Hastings to Lock 19 in Peterborough, boaters have 60 kilometres of uninterrupted scenic water to explore and enjoy. FISHING & BOATING
Voted the Ultimate Fishing Town by the World Fishing Network in 2012, Hastings has become a popular destination for anglers. The Hastings Bridge is known as the only roadway bridge in Ontario where you can legally fish. Cast for muskie, walleye, pickerel, large and smallmouth bass, pike, perch and panfish. Test your angling skills in a bass tournament, with several held in Hastings each year. Just be sure to research license requirements, regulations and fishing zones before you begin.Hastings Village Marina
The Marina offers 64 slips for seasonal and transient docking for boaters on the Trent-Severn Waterway. The modern, state-of-the-art marina is located at the mouth of Rice Lake close at Lock 18 and within walking distance to the charming Village of Hastings – the Hub of the Trent.

The Trent Hills Flavour Trail, a self-guided driving tour, is guaranteed to tempt your taste buds with food and drink that is locally produced, locally grown or uniquely Trent Hills. In Hastings, you’ll visit Bridgewater Café for a tasty butter tart, meet the beekeepers at MoreRoses Apiaries and Honey, and sample the unique craft brews of Focal Brewing.

Hastings Hub Trail
Connecting the Lang-Hastings section of the Trans Canada Trail to the Northumberland County section, the Hastings Hub Trail has a winter
route and a summer by-pass route. The Hub Trail includes a Winter walking loop joining the winter and summer loops to form an enjoyable, flat 4 to 5 km trail for walking and exploring the Village of Hastings.

Northumberland Rail Trail
Stretching 33 km from Hastings to Hoard’s Station, enjoy this portion of the Trans Canada Trail, the former rail track that runs east to Ottawa and North to Bancroft. Predominantly a rail trail, you’ll pass alongside the Trent-Severn Waterway, wetlands and rolling farm fields dotted with sheep and cattle. Ospreys are sure to be seen next to the river as are turtles laying their eggs in June. The trail is intended for walking, biking, ATVs and cross-country skiing. Snowmobiles are allowed from November 15 to April 1.

Hastings Beach
The Village of Hastings offers a sandy beach, on the south side of the Trent River where it flows from Rice Lake. You may even see a Great Blue Heron, muskrat or a beaver while you swim!

Pisces Pete
Hastings Pisces Park features Pisces Pete, a giant fish sculpture that marks the significance of fishing in Hastings. Pisces Pete is a walleye that measures 12 feet long and stands 12 feet tall, crafted in stainless steel. The designer, Canadian artist Bill Lishman, chose the species as it represents the most popular for local fishermen and is considered by many to be the best game fish in Ontario.

Kawarthas Northumberland Visitor Information Centre
The visitor centre offers information on the entire region and features a new state-of-the-art digital kiosk. Here you can:

Open from May to October, this is the last lock before entering Rice Lake and is staffed by Parks Canada. Amenities include:
